About Us
Christ Church Los Angeles is a Bible based Christian Church for the city of Los Angeles, located in Atwater Village. It all got started back in 2016 when Missio Dei LA was planted in Silver Lake. Building on the foundation laid in 2016, in January of 2021 we launched a new church called Christ Church Los Angeles.
Who We Are
Everyone in our church has a story to tell. We’re all broken people from different backgrounds and different walks of life, yet we share a deep unity because of God's love and grace in our lives. We seek to be a church that extends this love to those around us - which is foundational to what we believe. We want to invite everyone to come and enjoy the peace and rest offered to us in Jesus Christ. You're always welcome at Christ Church Los Angeles. Wherever you are in your faith journey, we want to help you take the next step toward renewal. We're saving a seat for you.
Our Beliefs
Before outlining our beliefs, we want to say that we seek to be a community that's welcoming to everyone. You don't have to agree with everything, or anything, written below to be welcome at our church. This isn't because we don't think that what we believe is important. It is. Our beliefs help root, shape, and guide us.
We believe the gospel of Jesus Christ is the most important news you’ll ever hear. The gospel is the message of how God rescues us from our sin and restores the world through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus.
At Christ Church, our beliefs are rooted in the historic Christian faith and reflect the unity of the global Church. We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God and our ultimate authority for what we believe and how we live.
We wholeheartedly embrace a robust, historic Christianity that flows from the Scriptures and has been expressed by faithful believers throughout the centuries.
With Christians across the ages and around the world, we affirm the foundational beliefs expressed in three ancient creeds:
We stand in the tradition of the 16th century reformers who affirmed that salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone, according to the Scriptures for the glory to God alone. Our beliefs are faithfully expressed today by the Converge statement of faith.
